Amazon Australia has launched its longest-ever Prime Day, running for a full week from July 8 to July 14, alongside new consumer research findings.

According to a study commissioned by Amazon Australia and conducted by YouGov Plc, 72 per cent of Australian shoppers plan to start buying Christmas gifts as early as July this year.

The research also found that 43 per cent of consumers are eager to search for the earliest discounts during online sales that begin at midnight.

“To celebrate Prime members and give them some of the deepest discounts of the year, we’ve worked with big brands and local sellers to create a Prime Day packed with deals – from larger purchases down to the basics – so that our members can make their budgets stretch,” said Arno Lenior, director of Amazon Prime, APAC.

In addition to Prime’s fast and free delivery options, the event features thousands of products from major brands as well as small Aussie businesses.
