Minimum costs are going to run you $2,000 monthly.
Shopify really looks at this model based on usage.
Most merchandise is probably going to fall into this category when they start.
But:
If you’re optimistic like me it’s only where you’re going to start.
After you hit over $800,000K per month, Shopify will make it a revenue-based model.
Then it’s going to be .25% of the monthly revenue you bring in.

Shopify Plus does allow you to use the pre-made themes like any other plan.
So, the cost of your store could be zero.
But let’s say you are going to use a web design team or agency to build it out and really focus on your brand.
Some key things that could go into it.
- The web design team used or agency
- Number of products
- The country you are in and the storefronts you have
- Integrations needed
Taking all this into consideration, you would look at an estimated amount of $20K – $275K if you hire it out.
You can also do it yourself with everything they offer.
How about the Shopify Plus Credit Card Transaction Fees?
Oh my gosh, I’m glad you asked 
So a pretty quick rundown of this for Shopify Plus.
- Visa And Mastercard fees for U.S. customers will be 2.15% + $.30 per transaction
- U.S. customers’ credit card fees for Amex are 3.15% + $.30 per transaction.
- Internation customers’ credit card fees are 3.15% + $.30 per transaction.
One thing you can keep in mind is that Shopify Plus integrates with 70 payment gateways.
Each of these has different rates and may have some negotiation room too.
Just keep in mind Shopify will charge .15% for not using them.
Shopify Plus App Fees
Cost: $150 – $1,100 + per month
Obviously, this one is tough to factor in because it’s going to matter what you want and need.
One plus is there are free ones to choose from too.
But at the end of the day if these apps assist you in increasing your revenue who really cares right?
If I measure it and realize spending $10 a month on a conversion tool increases my sales by 5% well that might be HUGE.
Maintenance Fees
One nice thing about Shopify Plus with a hosted platform is that a majority of costs such as hosting, security upgrades, and patches.
So this will really help keep fees down and help out your bottom line.
Is There Any Room For Negotiation?
No, there isn’t.
In the earlier years, Shopify Plus had the ability to negotiate a little.
Now, if you really start growing your store they might have a little wiggle room when it comes to their credit card rates.
But just consider the actual platform a solid price overall.

Obviously, some will just be getting started so they won’t have to worry about that.
But, let’s say you do have to migrate from another platform.
From what I was told by Shopify
the cost would depend on the complexity of the migration.
In all fairness I get it.
They personally have a rule of thumb of 90 days to be up and running.
I did see one quote for around $5K too.
So, when it comes to migration fees I personally would shop around for 3-5
And am well looking to do it myself if possible.
